The short answer
A worried client has three questions. Answer them, and they call.
Most people visit a lawyer’s website once, in a stressful week. Every section below answers one of these, in this order. Leave one open and they call the next firm on Google.
Do you handle my kind of problem?
Practice areas in plain words, not legal terms.
What will it cost me?
The first-meeting fee, and how the rest is charged.
Who will I be talking to?
Real lawyers, real photos, and a promise of confidentiality.
Lim & Aziz is a made-up Melaka practice; its names and address are illustrative. Its fees sit inside published Malaysian ranges (checked Nov 2026): first consultations free to RM 500, simple wills RM 500–2,000, wills with a trust from RM 3,000, and property work on the official scale fee. The example follows Malaysia’s publicity rules for lawyers — see what they change.

Clear legal help for property, wills and family matters
Speak to a lawyer, not a receptionist. First consultation RM 200 for 45 minutes, in English, Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin.
We reply within 1 working day · What you tell us stays confidential

Header
Name practice areas the way clients describe their problem
“Property, Wills & probate, Family” — not “Conveyancing, Contentious matters, Corporate advisory”. Clients don’t know the legal terms; they know they are buying a house or a parent has died. Keep the booking button in the header as they scroll.
Lawyer tipPut “Fees” in the menu. It is the page most clients want and fewest firms have.
Hero
Say what you help with, where, and what the first step costs
A client arrives worried and unsure if you handle their matter. The headline answers that in plain words. The first-consultation fee and the languages you speak remove the two biggest reasons people don’t call. Use a real photo of a lawyer with a client, not a gavel.
Rules checkSay what you do, not how good you are. “Clear help with property” is fine; “Melaka’s top property lawyers” is a claim the rules don’t allow.
What do you need help with?
Practice areas
Sort your work by life situation, each with its own page
Four cards a client can recognise themselves in. Each one leads to a page for that matter — which is also what Google needs to show you for “probate lawyer Melaka”. One page listing twelve practice areas ranks for none of them.
Lawyer tipOnly list work you want more of. Every card is a promise to answer that call. See service pages that convert.
How your first consultation works
Property fees follow the official scale. Everything else gets a written quote before work starts.
First step
Make the first meeting feel small, known and priced
Most people have never hired a lawyer. They fear a big bill from the first phone call. Three steps, a fixed fee and a clear outcome (“you leave knowing your options”) turn a scary decision into a small one.
Lawyer tipMany Malaysian firms offer the first 30 minutes free; others charge RM 100–500. Either works — just say which, on the homepage.
Who you’ll speak to
The lawyers
Show the people they will actually meet, with real photos
Clients hire a person, not a logo. A real photo, name, year admitted, languages and the matters each lawyer handles answers “who will I be talking to?” — the question behind most hesitation.
Rules checkList qualifications and practice areas, not titles like “specialist” or “expert”. Malaysian lawyers can’t claim either.
About the practice
Trust
Build trust with facts, not hand-picked praise
Other industries lean on reviews. A law firm should be careful: the rules restrict selective testimonials and talk of wins. Use facts a client can check — how long you have practised, languages, where you are, Bar membership. For reviews, show your Google score and count, and link to all of them on Google.
Rules checkYour Google Business Profile reviews can stay on Google. Copying the best ones onto your homepage is the kind of selective testimonial the 2025 rules restrict. The rules are new — confirm with the Bar before showing any review content.
Lawyer tipAsk every client for a review the same way when their matter closes — not only the happy ones — and never offer anything in return. See how to get Google reviews.
Plain-English answers
Guides
Answer the questions clients search before they call
Short pages answering real questions do two jobs. They show how you explain things — which is what clients judge you on — and they bring visitors from Google who are already looking for help.
Lawyer tipWrite down the questions you answer on the phone every week. Each one is a page. See does a small business need a blog.

Contact
Ask what it is about first, and promise confidentiality
A dropdown of matter types sends the enquiry to the right lawyer and makes the form feel quick. The line “no details needed yet” stops people writing an essay — or giving up. Say how fast you reply, right under the button.
Lawyer tipMany clients want to call. Show the phone number as well as the form; don’t make them choose your way. See contact form best practices.

Google and clients both check that your details match everywhere. Add a privacy notice — you are collecting personal and sensitive information — and a short disclaimer that the website is general information, not legal advice.
Page 2 · Where the decision happens
A practice area page: wills & probate
Every practice card on the homepage leads to a page like this. Its job: show the client their situation is normal, explain what happens, and say what it costs.
Wills & probate in Melaka
- ✓You want your family looked after if something happens
- ✓A parent has passed away and the bank account is frozen
- ✓There was no will, and you don’t know where to start
Situations
Open with the situations clients are in, in their words
A frozen bank account is how most people discover probate. Starting with situations they recognise tells them in five seconds they are on the right page — before any legal term appears.
What happens, step by step
Timing depends on the estate. We tell you what affects it at the first meeting.
The process
Explain the steps and what affects the timing
Clients fear the unknown more than the cost. A short, honest sequence shows you have done this many times — without claiming it. Say what makes a case faster or slower instead of promising a date.
Rules checkDon’t promise an outcome or a fixed timeline. “Usually”, “depends on” and “we’ll tell you at the first meeting” are honest and allowed.
What it costs
Fees checked Nov 2026. Court, stamp and search fees are extra and shown in your quote.
Fees
Show a starting fee where you can, and explain the rest
“Contact us for fees” ends most visits. A “from” price for standard work and a clear promise of a written quote for the rest lets a client budget before they call. Date the prices.
Lawyer tipFixed-fee work like simple wills is the easiest to price online and the most searched. See should you show prices.
What to bring
- ✓Your IC, and the IC of anyone you name in the will
- ✓A rough list of assets: property, bank accounts, EPF, insurance
- ✓For probate: the death certificate and the will, if there is one
Preparation
Tell them what to bring to the first meeting
A short list makes the first meeting productive and makes the client feel prepared, not exposed. It also quietly tells them the meeting is real work, worth the fee.
Next step
End with one button and the lawyer’s name
Naming the lawyer who handles this work turns “contact the firm” into “talk to her”. One button, the same booking as everywhere else.
Page 3 · Where the call is booked
The booking page
Every “Book a consultation” button leads here. Its job: get the right details, in the right order, without making a worried person write their whole story.
1. What is it about?
Matter first
Start with the type of matter, as big tap targets
One tap, no typing. It routes the enquiry to the right lawyer and tells the client straight away that you handle their kind of problem.
2. Who is the other party, if any?
We check this first so we never act for both sides. It stays confidential.
Conflict check
Ask about the other party, and say why
Lawyers must check for conflicts before taking a matter. Asking up front saves a wasted meeting. Explaining it in one line turns an odd question into a sign of care.
3. How and when?
Format
Let them choose office or video, and their language
Many clients prefer to speak in their own language about something personal. Offering it here — not just listing it on the About page — is what makes them book.
Summary
End with what happens next and the fee, then one button
No surprises: when you will hear back, how long the meeting is, what it costs and when to pay. Then a button that says exactly what it does.

About the firm

Fees
How you charge for each type of work: scale fees, fixed fees, or a written quote. The page most firms leave out.
Plain-English guides
One short page per common question. These bring most of your visitors from Google.
Privacy & disclaimer
A PDPA privacy notice for what you collect, and a note that the site is general information, not legal advice.
Beyond the pages
Six things that quietly lift first calls
Not pages, but they decide whether a visitor who is ready actually gets in touch — and whether you can tell it worked.
On a phone
A bar with Call and WhatsApp that stays on screen
Most people look for a lawyer on their phone, often in a hurry. Two thumb-sized buttons at the bottom of every page beat any form.
Urgent matters
Say what to do if it can’t wait
One line under the hero: “Urgent, such as a court date this week? Call 06-288 0000.” It stops urgent clients leaving for the next result on Google.
After the form
A thank-you page that says what happens next
“We’ll reply by 5pm tomorrow. Here’s what to bring.” It calms the client and gives you a page to count enquiries with. See Google Analytics for small business.
A complete Google Business Profile
Most local clients find you on Maps before your website. Hours, photos, practice areas and a link to your booking page. See Google Business Profile.
Language
The key pages in the languages you speak
If you advise in Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin, translate the homepage, fees and booking page — not just a line saying you speak it.
Speed
Fast on mobile data
A slow site feels like a slow firm. Compress photos and skip the video hero. See website speed.
Malaysia only
Before you publish: the publicity rules
Lawyers in Malaysia can market online, but with limits. The Legal Profession (Publicity) Rules 2025 took effect on 1 January 2026. A website that copies what a bakery or a clinic does can break them.
“Specialist” or “expert”
Don’t claim either for yourself or anyone in the firm. List practice areas instead.
Promised outcomes or wins
No “we won”, “guaranteed”, or success rates. Explain the process instead.
Hand-picked testimonials
Selective client praise on your own site is restricted. Use checkable facts.
Comparisons with other firms
No “best”, “top” or “cheaper than”. Describe what you do, not how you rank.
What you can show
Who you are
Names, photos, qualifications, year admitted, languages.
What you do
Practice areas, the process, what to bring, how long things usually take.
What it costs
Fees, how you quote, and what is extra.
Where and how
Address, hours, phone, booking, and plain-English guides.

Gavels, scales and handshakes
Stock photos every firm uses. Show your own people and office.
Legal jargon on the homepage
“Contentious and non-contentious matters” means nothing to a worried client.
“Contact us for fees”
Most people won’t ask. They call the firm that explains its fees.
A form with no reply time
Silence feels like rejection to someone already anxious. Say when you’ll reply.
Owners’ questions
Lawyer website questions
What should a lawyer website include?
A homepage that names your practice areas in plain words, one page per practice area, a fees page, real photos and profiles of the lawyers, a booking page that asks what the matter is about, and plain-English answers to common questions. Add a call and WhatsApp bar on mobile and a privacy notice.
Can Malaysian lawyers show client reviews on their website?
Be careful. The Legal Profession (Publicity) Rules 2025 restrict selective testimonials. A safer approach: show your Google score and review count with a link to read them all on Google, rather than copying your best quotes. Use checkable facts on the site too: years in practice, languages and Bar membership. Check the current rules with the Bar before publishing.
Should a lawyer show fees on their website?
Yes, where you can. Show the first-consultation fee, “from” prices for fixed-fee work like simple wills, the official scale for property work, and how you quote for everything else. “Contact us for fees” loses most visitors.
What are good lawyer website examples?
Look for sites that name practice areas as client situations, show the lawyers’ real photos, explain the first consultation and its fee, and end every page with one booking button. The example on this page shows all of these for a small practice.
How much does a lawyer website cost in Malaysia?
It depends on the number of practice area pages and whether you need booking or more than one language. See website design price in Malaysia for current ranges.
